The Church of Christ was gathered on October 28, 1724 with Ebenezer Parkman, who served the church until his death, as its minister. In 1825 the church reformed as the First Congregational Society. This collection contains digital surrogates and a microfilm copy of the record book for the Church of Christ.

In 1941, the church building was used as a medical station by the federal government. The church building was sold by the Rhode Island Conference in 1951. The collection includes meeting minutes, financial records, a clipping, and a list of members.

The First Parish Church in York, Maine was established at some point between 1662 and 1673 with Shubael Drummer ordained as the first minister. Rev. Drummer was killed during a Native American raid in 1692 and was followed by Samuel Moody in 1698. Rev. Moody's pastorate ended in 1747 with his death. He was followed by Samuel Lyman in 1749 who served as minister until his death in 1810. Included within the collection are church and parish records, financial records, and vital records.
