Abstract Reverend John Dennison Kingsbury was born in Hanover, New Hampshire on April 19, 1831. He attended University of Vermont and received his M.A. in 1852. He then went to the Andover Theological Seminary, graduating in 1856. Later on in life, the Andover Theological Seminary honored him with the degree of Doctor of Divinity in 1887. His first pastorate was at the Congregational Church in Brandon, Vermont. His longest commitment would be in 1866 when he began working in Bradford, Massachusetts....

Abstract The town of Lancaster and the First Congregational Church in Lancaster were established on November 28, 1653. The second meeting house was constructed in 1684 and the third meeting house was constructed in 1706. The fourth meeting house was constructed in 1743. Rev. Abstract

The Minister's Club, founded in 1870 was a club with a similar objective. A member later likened it to the English "Metaphysical Society" though it was more long lived. Meeting format consisted of read essays and discussion and the location of meetings were often hosted by members at their own residences. This collection contains meeting minutes, a historical sketch and various articles related to the Minister's Club.
