Historical Note

The Minister's Club, founded in 1870 was a club with a similar objective. A member later likened it to the English "Metaphysical Society" though it was more long lived. Meeting format consisted of read essays and discussion and the location of meetings were often hosted by members at their own residences.

Deposited along with RG0032 + RG5376 by Joseph Bassett (Minister's Club) and Justin Hartman (Pilgrim Club and Winthrop Club) in June 1985, no original accession number. Minister's Club was separated in 2018 and given accession number: 2018-16.
