Abstract In 1955, Rev. Hoy of the First Congregational Church in Pueblo suggested that the residents of the developing Belmont neighborhood should consider establishing a “liberal” protestant church. The Christ Congregational Church was formally incorporated on February 11, 1957. Abstract The Solon Community Church was founded in 1834 as a congregational fellowship before joining the Cleveland Presbytery in 1840. The church burned down in 1897 and held services at the schoolhouse and Disciples of Christ church until a new building was dedicated in 1898. The Solon Presbyterian and Disciples churches joined to form the Solon Federated Church in 1922 which changed its name to the Solon Community Church in 1948, and which split apart in 1951. Abstract The Elmwood Community Church was founded in 1921 from the Elmwood Union Chapel Association with James F. English as its first pastor. Due to the growth of the church, the Sunday school, the Ladies Aid Society, and other organizations, a new church building was construction beginning in 1926 with a parsonage following in 1947.
