Abstract William Francis Sayles gathered together 36 residents of Moshassuck (later Saylesville) in June 1860. At first they organized the Friends' District Union Sabbath School, which would be become Sayles Memorial Church. Mr. Sayles had originally opened the school for his employees' children but in 1873 decided to build Sayles Memorial Chapel. Marjorie Ann Scott was born in Bedford, Virginia, on December 1st, 1947. In 1989, Marjorie would become an ordained minister of the United Church of Christ for the Church of the Covenant in Boston. Marjorie would pass away at the age of 61 on January 28th, 2009. This collection contains material from the life of Marjorie Ann Scott and includes autobiographical writing, poems, sermons, letters, remembrances, and more.

Abstract In 1955, Rev. Hoy of the First Congregational Church in Pueblo suggested that the residents of the developing Belmont neighborhood should consider establishing a “liberal” protestant church. The Christ Congregational Church was formally incorporated on February 11, 1957. Abstract The Solon Community Church was founded in 1834 as a congregational fellowship before joining the Cleveland Presbytery in 1840. The church burned down in 1897 and held services at the schoolhouse and Disciples of Christ church until a new building was dedicated in 1898. The Solon Presbyterian and Disciples churches joined to form the Solon Federated Church in 1922 which changed its name to the Solon Community Church in 1948, and which split apart in 1951. Abstract The Elmwood Community Church was founded in 1921 from the Elmwood Union Chapel Association with James F. English as its first pastor.
