Biographical Note

Rev. John Gardner was born in Dalton-on-Furness, Lancashire, England on May 27th, 1868. He moved from England to the United States in 1913. He married his wife, Agnes Annie Gardner, in the town of Poole, England in 1892. They would have five children together, John Ashworth, Gladys, Evelyn, Agnes and Annie. He served as pastor at Redhill Congregational Church in Redhill, England, New England Congregational Church in Chicago, the First Congregational Church in Riverside, California, and the Garden City Community Church in Garden City, New York. He died on April 29th, 1954 in Bethesda, Maryland.
