Building sale correspondence, 2007-2008
Scope and Contents
This subseries contains records related the possible, or actual, sale of the Congregational House at 14 Beacon Street, Boston, Massachusetts. The American Congregational Association long grappled with the idea of selling the building. The association nearly sold the building in 2008 but an economic downturn resulted in the buyer pulling out from the deal. The Congregational House was sold to Faros Properties in 2017. This sub-series contains records related to discussions had regarding the sale of the building, information and resources created in the lead up to potential sales of the building, and correspondence and communications from the board of directors about the sale of the building, and the lease the association signed with Faros Properties in the wake of the sale of the building.
