Gladys Gardner Jenkins was born in England on December 14th, 1901. She began her career teaching in Riverside, California. She would go to Chicago for graduate school where she would meet her husband Richard Jenkins. She continued to engage in teaching by writing books and speaking on the radio. She wrote “These Are Your Children” and other books on children and family. Gladys and Richard had three children, Joan, Janet and Jane. She died on July 9th, 1994.
