Historical Note

An association for Congregational ministers in and around Detroit, Michigan, has been in existence since 1887. In 1908, that Association was known as the Congregational Association of Detroit. In 1964, the association formally joined with the Michigan Conference of the United Church of Christ and became known as the Detroit Metropolitan Association. At some point, the association merged with the Eastern Association to become the Detroit Metropolitan & Eastern Associations, an organization which is still active today.
