Abstract The land that became Camp Talahi, in Howell, Michigan, was purchased from the Young Women’s Christian Association of Detroit in 1949. A nonprofit trust was created in 1951 by the Congregational Association of Detroit and the Michigan-Indiana Synod of the Evangelical and Reformed Church to manage and operate the campground. Abstract

An association of Congregational ministers has existed in Detroit since 1887. In 1908, that Association was known as the Congregational Association of Detroit. In 1964, it became known as the Detroit Metropolitan Association. The association exists today as the Detroit Metropolitan & Eastern Associations. This collection contains a single mortgage agreement between the Detroit Metropolitan Association and the Congregational Church Building Society.
