The South Acton Congregational Church in South Acton, MA began in 1876 as a chapel society founded by the Middlesex Union Conference of Congregational Churches and the Massachusetts Home Missionary Society. In 1877, a Sunday school was started with the Ladies Social Circle following in 1879. The Porter Evangelical Church in North Bridgewater, later the Porter Congregational Church in Brockton, was established in 1850 by members who left the First Parish Congregational Church over ecclesiastical differences. The church purchased a building just north of the First Parish Congregational Church in 1851 and the building was further renovated in 1883, 1925, and 1950. Abstract
The First Congregational Church of Oxford (MA) was established in the house of Rev. John Campbell on January 18, 1721 and construction of the first meetinghouse followed. The second meetinghouse was completed in 1748. The church split in 1813 with some members forming a Universalist church in the South Meetinghouse.
