Abstract The First Church of Christ in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, was first organized in February 1764. Thomas Allen was called to be the first minister of the church and he was ordained as pastor on April 18, 1764. Construction on the first meeting house was completed in 1770 and construction on the second meeting house was completed in 1793. Abstract A Christian Connection church was gathered in 1834 in Providence, Rhode Island, and by 1871 it was known as the Broad Street Christian Church. The Elmwood Congregational Church was first gathered in 1851 and in 1895 it was reformed as the Elmwood Temple Congregational Church in Providence. Abstract

The Free Evangelical Congregational Church was gathered in Providence, Rhode Island, in 1843. In 1945, the name of the church was changed to Hope Street Church. In 1950, the church merged with the Second Presbyterian Church of Providence. The church still exists today as the Providence Presbyterian Church. This collection contains vital membership records and administrative records and includes vital statistics, meeting minutes, and governance documents.

Abstract The Second Church of Christ in Reading was gathered on June 29, 1720 with 39 founding members. The first pastor was Rev. Daniel Putnam who served until his death on June 20, 1759. He was followed by Rev. Eliab Stone who became the pastor in 1761 and also served until his death in 1822. Religious disagreements led to a split during the 1830s and in 1892 the Congregationalists and Methodists merged to form the Union Congregational Church of North Reading, which continues to serve the community...

Rev. Robert C. Lane served as minister in Baraboo, WI in 1952, North Branford, CT in 1957, and Enfield, CT between 1967 and 1990, when he retired. During his retirement, he was an active member in the First Church of Windsor where he worked to make the church more welcoming to LGBT individuals. This collection records his work through the marital records he produced as a pastor.

Abstract The town of Stoneham was incorporated in 1725. A vote in 1726 provided for the building of a meetinghouse and the First Congregational Church was organized in 1729. The first pastor was Rev. James Osgood who was ordained in September 1729. Rev. John Cleaveland was pastor from 1785 until an ecclesiastical council dissolved his relationship with the town in 1894.
