Historical Note

The Rev. S. J. Humphrey was born in Derry, N. H., in 1820. He received his education at Bowdoin and Oberlin colleges and Andover Theological seminary. He was later appointed district secretary of the American board of foreign missions, with headquarters at Chicago. He died in April of 1906.
