Historical Note

Worcester North was established in 1827. Worcester South was established in 1852. Worcester Central was established in 1852. In 1909 at the recommendation of the Massachusetts General Conference, the Worcester Central Conference adopted the name “Association.” At the same time, control of ministerial standing, including ordination, was transferred from the local ministers’ association to the larger Worcester Central Association. The minutes in this collection begin with these changes in 1909. In 1970, it merged with the Central Association, which joined Brookfield, Middlesex Mendon, Middlesex Union, and Worcester Associations, an active association/region within the Massachusetts Conference, UCC.
