Historical Note

The Brewster Association was formed in 1836 after the Barnstable Association dissolved due to "distance and difficulty of travelling." The Association was comprised of ordained Congregational ministers residing in the eastern part of Barnstable County. In 1866 the Association voted to merge with Vineyard Sound.
