Series I contains minutes, reports, and correspondence from the General Council's Advisory Committee, Executive Committee, Committee of Fifteen, Committee on Free Church Polity, Finance Committee; state and local committees are also documented in the Series, along with church bodies that fought to prevent the merger such as the Committee for the Continuation of the Congregational Christian Church and the League to Uphold COngregational Principles.
