Scope and Contents
Scrapbook 4, 1867-1899 includes primarily correspondence between Pratt and Henry Clay Trumbull of the Sunday School Times. This correspondence contains information regarding church and Sunday School matters, the death of Trumbull's son and mother, matters pertaining to the Sunday School Times, and clippings of Trumbull's articles and publications in the Sunday School Times. The scrapbook also contains a reprint from Gorgias Press titled, "Studies in Oriental Social Life and Fleams from the East on the Sacred Page," a copy of “Petition to Publishers of Temperance Text Books,” an announcement of Thomas E. Besolow lectures, and circulars from the New England Chinese Mission of the American Sunday School Union.
Also included are several photographs and engravings of members of the Sunday School Times, various Church leaders, Berkeley Temple Church, members of the Salvation Army, members of the Boston City Missionary Society, the President of the Congregational Sunday School and Publishing Society, and memebers of various Temperance Associations, such as Lady Henry Somerset of the National British Women's Temperance Association and Francis E. Willard of the Woman's Christian Temperance Union.
