Scope and Contents
Scrapbook 1, 1866-1899 includes correspondence concerning Pratt's exhibition catalogue, the work of artist Maurice Halley, the American Oriental Soceity, Pratt's 1886 invitation to meet the President of the United States, the appointment of Chester Holcome as U.S. Minister to China in 1885, and Pratt's address, "The Bible for One Hundred Years," given at the Dorset Church Centennial. The scrapbook also includes clippings on prominant pastors and scholars and clippings of articles written by Pratt.
Correspondents present in scrapbook 1 include Harriet Beecher Stowe, Lyman Whiting, William Baldwin of Boston Young Men's Christinan Union, M. Clay Trumbull of the Sunday School Times, William L. Ropes of Andover Theological Seminary, Caspar Rene Gregory, John B. Gough, George F. Moore, Isaiah Bray, and Grover Cleveland.
