Chicago Area Project records, 1932-1937.
The Chicago Area Project (CAP) was founded in the 1930's by Clifford Shaw, a University of Chicago sociologist, who believed every neighborhood could reduce juvenile delinquency by improving community life. This collection contains the records from the first decade of CAP's operation and includes financial records, field reports, and correspondence.
Massachusetts Conference Collection records, 1722-2012.
The Massachusetts Conference, United Church of Christ, began as a series of independent regional ministers’ associations. Originally these groups met to discuss matters of theology. This record group is comprised of collections that had been seprately organized and described within the Congregational Library & Archives and now is an intentional collection that fall under the umbrella of the Massachusetts Conference.
S. J. Humphrey account books, 1871-1888.
The Rev. S. J. Humphrey was born in Derry, N. H., in 1820. He was appointed district secretary of the American board of foreign missions, with headquarters at Chicago. The collection includes two corporate account books.
Sioux Association of Congregational Churches records, 1871-1927.
The history of the Sioux Association's is not completely known. The records indicate that the group formed in 1871 and continued to function as of 1927, although it is not known the exact date the association ceased. Members of the Sioux Association formed an offshot called the Cherokee Association in 1899. The records in this collection include meeting minutes, list of members, finances and other operational paperwork.
