Abstract William Banfield Capron was born in Uxbridge, Massachusetts on April 14, 1824. Sarah Brown Hooker was born in Lanesboro, Massachusetts, on April 24, 1828. Sarah and William met while both were teaching at the Hartford High School. They were married on October 1, 1856. Abstract The origins of South Congregational Church start in 1874 when women from the Park Avenue Congregational Church organized a Sunday School. This would eventually lead to a "Mr. Gilbert" donating land for construction of a chapel. The new chapel was located between Sheldon and Jefferson on Delaware Street and finished in 1876. Abstract Reverend Robert Henry Davis was born in Frederica, Delaware on August 28, 1944. He graduated with a B.A. and M.A. from Amherst College and Bangor Seminary in 1871. He would be offically ordained in 1872. In 1878 he went to work in Japan as a foerign missionary. He would be there for 8 years until returning hope in December of 1886. This collection contains diaries (journals), extracts from sermons, readings, and letters from 1793-1835. Contained in 8 handmade books. One letter contains an essay entitled "On the Millenium" which mentions Jonathan Edwards. One journal is an arithmatic book attributed to "Sukey Counce Hunt." Also contains correspondence between the author's parents, Mary (Counce) Hunt and Daniel Hunt, which chronicles life in Boston during British occupation, and a diary of Mary Hunt's.

Abstract Leonard Woods was born in Princeton, Massachusetts and eventually graduated from Harvard in 1796. He was ordained at Second Church of West Newbury, Massachusetts on December 5, 1798; He held onto that position until May 25, 1808 to become Professor of Theology at the Andover seminary and stayed there until his resignation in 1846.
