Abstract

The Summerdale Congregational Church formed in 1899 out of a Sunday school that met in the Summerdale railway station. A year later, the Summerdale Congregational Church was organized. Abstract In 1892, the town of Creede was incorporated. Rev. Horace Sanderson, a missionary minister from the Congregational Home Missions office, delivered the first sermon in town on January 10, 1892. Under Rev. William T. The city of Cripple Creek, Colorado, was incorporated in 1892, the same year that the First Congregational Church in Cripple Creek was gathered. The church was known as The Union Church by the 1940s and in later years it would be known as The United Church. The church was dissolved in 1983.
