Biographical / Historical
The Congregational Church Union of Boston and Vicinity was established in 1896. The purpose of the group was “to promote religion and morality in Boston and the outlying cities and towns, by establishment and support of evangelical Congregational Churches, Sunday-schools, and Missions.” By 1939 its leadership was interleaved with the Massachusetts Conference. The Union was absorbed into the Conference in 1970.
